Kinnaur Pine Nuts — Wild-Harvested Chilgoza from the Himalayas

Kinnaur is home to one of the Himalayas’ most prized native foods — Chilgoza, or Pine Nuts.

Growing naturally in the high-altitude forests of Kinnaur, these pine nuts come from the cones of the Chilgoza pine (Pinus gerardiana). The nuts mature slowly in the cool mountain climate before the cones are traditionally gathered during the short harvest season.

Our Kinnaur Pine Nuts are sourced directly from villages where these wild forests of Pinenuts exists. Extracted after immense physical work and collective village efforts, this rich, buttery and delicately nut can be enjoyed straight from the shell, added to salads and desserts, or simply kept as a nourishing winter snack.
