In Himachal Pradesh, wild apricots, locally known as Chulli (Prunus armeniaca z.), Chutu, Share, or Zardalu, are predominantly cultivated in the districts of Shimla, Kullu, Chamba, Sirmour, Kinnaur, and Lahaul-Spiti.

These trees thrive in the wild across many regions and have even been found at altitudes as high as 12,000 feet in the Spiti Valley, where winter temperatures can drop to -30 degree celsius.
