Amidst this picturesque view are calloused hands of hardworking farmers in their Bushari topis, deeply connected to their land and deities, tending to their crops throughout the year, offering a silent reverence.
This is the world of Kayang ~ where nature and tradition are woven together in perfect harmony, just like the graceful movements of the local dance that inspires our name.
More than a brand or company Kayan is a journey of a Kinnaura returning celebrating the natural produces of Kinnaur with the world outside.
Nestled in the Western Himalayas of Himachal Pradesh, Kayang is a community-focused idea where, for generations, farmers have cultivated the land using traditional practices that have been passed down for decades in some of the most challenging terrains of India.
Through our little endeavour, you can experience the fruits of their labor: exquisite apples, wild Himalayan honey, Rajmah beans, black cumin, pinenuts, walnuts, and more.
Our apples, for instance, have been naturally grown by farmers for over 20 years, thriving at altitudes between 9,000 feet and 14,000 feet, where roads became feasible only in the last decade, posing a logistical challenge in itself. However, all efforts are worthwhile as each bite bursts with the pure and healthy essence of these challenging yet rewarding lands.
Our vision
To see Himalayan wellness products become the natural choice for health-conscious consumers. We achieve this by bypassing the traditional middleman system, ensuring fairer prices for our farmers and fresher produce for you. We connect you directly with the farmers and their stories, fostering a deeper understanding of where and who and all the work that goes behind.
We believe in the power of our tribal heritage, the advantage of our untouched natural surroundings, and the importance of age old community development practices. And for the same reason the idea is simply rooted in the ethos of bridging the gap between the hardworking farmers and the consumers across India by delivering directly from the farms to your door steps.
